We’re all caught up in the oil mess and as time passes more and more truths come out about how our government has sold us down the river. These guys simply don’t care about us. They are making their beds with big business and cashing fat paychecks.
Take a look at the tax returns these people are posting. They don’t even live in our world, yet we’re going to put them in office because they are rich? They get rich raping you and me.
Lets step back from the elections and the Whitehorse and Supermajor for a moment and get a littler perspective on how screwed we are getting. The spotlight for today is the FDA. These guys are not just taking brides. Just type bribe FDA in your favorite search engine and a laundry list comes up.
They aren’t just cashing checks they take nice first class trips and eat steak and lobster on the dime of the people they are supposed to be policing, and every time we hear about it we just do what, shrug?
What’s the latest failure? Oh just another salmonella outbreak in our food supply, but we are getting used to it.
More important than there incompetence and there corruption is the fact that they have the full support of the highest court in the land to screw us over and protect big business.
It doesn’t stop with food. This lady, Bridget Robb, got screwed twice by the FDA the supreme court and Medtronic. You see not to long ago the supreme court in it’s infinite wisdom, handed down a ruling that once the Food and Drug Administration approves a medical device, a consumer can't sue the manufacturer, even if they are injured by it.
Stop, think about this ruling and what it means in a big picture way. First of all this could only be something a sane person would consider if the FDA had a spotless record, it doesn’t it’s a joke. So this is a play to big business, these guys get to basically buy FDA approval and the supreme court has given these companies immunity. In the ruling clear as it can be it specifically states they can’t be sued even if there faulty crap kills us.
Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., chaired the Judiciary Committee hearing today where Robb retold her story in an effort to have the law changed.
"I think it was a good law that worked very, very well and suddenly the Supreme Court interprets it, I believe, the wrong way," Leahy said. "Either way, it's a duty now of the Congress to try to fix it." The senator was clearly angered by Robb's physical and legal ordeal.
I can’t say I am a big Leahy fan but we need to show those few that actually take a stand on our behalf that we support them. It can’t be about party politics now we have to use our votes to send a clear message and I encourage everyone to vote across party lines and for the person not the machine.
This law has to change or you and I will be the ones paying the price with our lives.
If the supreme court gives the companies immunity, maybe we should start suing the government. Remember GM and Chrysler sued the State of California over ZEV.
If they can’t even keep our tomatoes safe maybe we should just stop cutting them paychecks. Just keep one thing in mind, we’re the guys paying them, we’re not victims in this unless we let it happen.
