Countries with looser drug laws have lower rates of abuse

Researches from the World Health Organization (WHO) have released data on a survey of 17 countries which reveals that Americans like to get high. NO WAY!

Some interesting figures came out of the study. 16% of the American population has tried cocaine compared to the next highest at 4.3% in New Zealand. 42% of Americans have smoked pot, again NZ is second with 41%. If there was more sheep than people here I think I might need to get high too.

One point of interest is the suggestion that Countries with looser drug laws have lower rates of abuse, the
researchers report in the Public Library of Science journal PLoS
Medicine.

Hmm, well if you have kids you know they are pretty likely to do exactly what you tell them not to, that's human nature after all, the forbidden fruit.

You DO remember prohibition don't you? Drug use has increased in all categories since prohibition according to most reports.

We've been down this road before. It's not just the cookie jar it's the illegal industry that's created and the lengths they feel they need to go to survive. But we already knew that.
