It's another beautiful night in LA but that doesn't help the dodges as they lose to the Marlins in what amounts to a pretty boring game.
The score doesn't really matter, the winner doesn't either it's baseball and I went there to eat and talk to friends, because that's what's great about baseball.
Growing up in Vancouver means going to hockey games, and while it's still my favorite sport to watch on TV, it's the kind of sport, if you talk to much you might miss something.
Baseball takes the kind of time a person can work with, you've got spurts of amazing action but even these take enough time to play out you can be looking away. I find it a great time to do business, and Dodger stadium a great place.
One Reason the stadium in LA is such a perfect venue is it's still called Dodger stadium, not Qualcomm or Nokia or some other brand name, it has a real name, the kind of name a stadium needs.
As you drive in you feel like you are someplace real. It smells real, the people are real and the name in big massive glowing letters is real.
Like any modern stadium it has advertisements everywhere, expect the name. With everything so insanely purchased and pretend it's a bit of grounding in the city of lights camera action. The security guards are every vigilant but friendly, the staff is helpful even though they are almost exactly a fortune now, the dodger dogs are in abundance. Unlike most venues in LA these dogs are exclusive, they aren't trucked in from Pinks.
Some things are sacred and win or lose in LA that's Baseball. Who cares what the score was, it was the best game ever.
