In yet another example of how stupid politicians really think we are Carolyn Kirk, the mayor of Gloucester, in Massachusetts, made the statement "Any planned blood-oath bond to become pregnant - there is absolutely no evidence of," in a furious denial. This kind of zeal is what I’ve gotten used to when I see politicians lie.
Joseph Sullivan, the principal of Gloucester High School, who made the comments about a planned "pregnancy pact" was not at the press conference.
School officials started looking into the matter as early as October after an unusual number of girls began filing into the school clinic to find out if they were pregnant.
Nurse practitioner Kim Daly had administered some 150 pregnancy tests at Gloucester High's student clinic, she and the clinic's medical director, Dr. Brian Orr, a local pediatrician, began to advocate prescribing contraceptives regardless of parental consent.
Several of the town residence also went on record saying they knew of this pact and the school superintendent Christopher Farmer was quote by time magazine as saying “Families are broken,Many of our young people are growing up directionless." but later changed his tune saying distinct possibility" that the girls who found themselves in similar, challenging situations later decided to "come together for mutual support".
Authorities have talked to school and health officials who work most closely with the children and, Mrs Kirk said: "The people that worked with the children on a daily basis have said there has been no mention whatsoever of a pact."
So I guess the old principle just made it up for kicks, he’s loosing his memory anyway so in a few days it will all go away!
